PURPOSE/ACTION REQUESTED
Schedule a public hearing for May 7, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. to receive comments on proposed new fees and recommended amendment to the 2024 Dakota County Fee Schedule.

SUMMARY
The Dakota County Property Taxation and Records Department recommends new fees and subsequent amendment to the 2024 Dakota County Fee Schedule. The new fees are associated with the implementation of a new Occasional User Online Portal Service.

The Occasional User Online Portal will allow one-time or infrequent users to search Dakota County property records remotely and download documents without maintaining a subscription service with associated monthly fees. The occasional users can pay individual fees by credit card for remote access to property documents. In addition to enhancing customer service, this service will result in greater internal efficiencies. The recommended new fees are as follows:

Minn. Stat. ? 373.41 authorizes the County Board to establish fees for various services provided to the public. This law also requires the County Board hold a public hearing prior to adopting such fees. This action will direct County staff to provide notice of the public hearing on the new fees to be held on May 7, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. The hearing will be held in the Dakota County Boardroom at 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, Minnesota 55033. The statute authorizing County fees does not require publication in the County's designated official newspaper.
