Award bid and authorize execution of a contract with Street Fleet Expedited, LLC, for interoffice and library mail delivery services and rescind Resolution No. 24-592 (December 3, 2024).
SUMMARY
Dakota County uses a contracted delivery service to move library books and related materials between the main service centers, Juvenile Service Center, Empire Maintenance Facility, Extension and Conservation Center, and Dakota 911. This service also moves library books and related materials between the ten County library locations.
A request for bids was issued in October 2024, and the County's current contractor, then known as Ultimate One Transportation, was the low bidder. The County Board authorized a new contract with Ultimate One under Resolution No. 24-592 (December 3, 2024). Since then, staff has learned that Ultimate One is under new ownership, and the company's name has been changed to Street Fleet Expedited, LLC. Staff is therefore requesting that the Board modify the prior authorization to allow Facilities Management to execute a contract with the same low bidder under their current corporate name. Staff is also requesting that the County Board rescind Resolution No. 24-592 (December 3, 2024).
RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the County Board rescind Resolution No. 24-592 and to execute a contract with Street Fleet Expedited, LLC, 3545 Hoffman Road E., Vadnais Heights, Minnesota 55110 for complete library and interoffice mail delivery services in an amount not to exceed $95,000.

EXPLANATION OF FISCAL/FTE IMPACTS
The cost of the contract is included in the 2025 Facilities Management Adopted Budget.
