WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 18-635 (December 18, 2018), Dakota County and Stinson LLP entered into a Contract for the provision of state governmental relations services pursuant to County Board; and
WHEREAS, the current contract with Stinson LLP expires on December 31, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the Contract to extend the term of the Contract to December 31, 2027, with the total amount of the Contract not to exceed $97,381; and
WHEREAS, the Contract requires all amendments to be reduced to writing and signed by both parties' authorized representative.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Dakota County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the County Manager, or designee, to execute an amendment of the contract with Stinson LLP for the provision of governmental relations services under the amended terms and conditions for the time period between January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2027 with the total contract cost not to exceed $97,381, subject to approval as to form by the County Attorney's Office.

BACKGROUND
The parties desire to amend the Contract to extend the term by one-year. Staff prepared an amendment to the current contact (see Attachment), extending the contract for one-year with a 5% decrease in cost in 2027.

Staff recommends approving the contract amendment between Dakota County and Stinson LLP for state governmental relations services.

FINANCIAL AND STAFFING IMPACTS
The maximum for the contract is $97,381 for 2027. This contract is funded by property tax levy. Sufficient funds are included in the 2027 County Manager’s Recommended Budget.
