PURPOSE/ACTION REQUESTED
Authorize the Information Technology (IT) Chief Information Officer (CIO) to execute a contract amendment to extend the term and to purchase additional Training Specialist Services.
SUMMARY
County IT has contracted with a Training Specialist consultant to assist staff with Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Training.
Deliverables to be included are:
• Review training manuals for clarity
• Screenshot changes
• Review Training manuals for business process
• Train end users
• Work with Dakota County Training Lead
• Provide Train-The-Trainer to Module Leads
• Update Test Scripts
• Create Training Agendas
• Assist with determining who needs to be in classroom training by job role
The original contract was to assist staff as noted above. Additional services are needed to complete implementation and post-implementation training activities The contract amendment extends the term from Dec. 31, 2022 through January 30, 2023 and increases the amount from $94,000 to $144,000 (an increase of $50,000). This extended term will continue training activities through a one-month post implementation of the new ERP system.

Staff recommends that the Board authorize the Information Technology (IT) Chief Information Officer (CIO) to execute the contract amendment with C4 Technical Services. This amendment will provide additional Training Specialist services and will increase the contract amount by $50,000 in a total not to exceed $144,000.

EXPLANATION OF FISCAL/FTE IMPACTS
The contract amendment will increase the contract amount by $50,000, resulting in a revised contract amount not to exceed $144,000. There are sufficient funds available in the 2022 Countywide training budget to cover this contract extension.

WHEREAS, professional services are required to ensure the continuation of Oracle ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) training; and
WHEREAS, IT has contracted with a Training Specialist consultant to assist staff in ensuring that training material is reviewed, updated and executed; and
WHEREAS, the original contract in the amount of $94,000 needs to be extended to continue the training of Dakota County staff on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP); and
WHEREAS, the amendment extends the contract terms by one month, ending January 30, 2023, and increases the cost of services by $50,000 for a total contract amount of $144,000; and
WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds available in the 2022 Countywide training budget to cover the contract extension.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Dakota County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Information Technology Chief Information Officer to execute a contract amendment with C4 Technical Services for additional Training Specialist services from December 31, 2022 through January 30, 2023, at a cost of $50,000, for a total contract amount of $144,000, subject to approval by the County Attorney’s office as to form.
