PURPOSE/ACTION REQUESTED
Authorize the Enterprise Finance and Information Services Director to amend the contract with Granicus, Inc. for a high-definition encoder and closed captioning services.
SUMMARY
Dakota County utilizes a high-definition encoder and closed captioning in the boardroom for broadcasting meetings to the public.
Granicus, Inc. provides online support, under a renewable contract (Resolution No. 18-251), for this high-definition encoder and closed captioning services for each County Board meeting to remain compliant with requirements as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
To maintain this service, a one-year extension of services and a payment of $48,084.59 for support services for high-definition encoding is necessary. The amendment will provide up to 72 hours of closed captioning services and increases the contract amount totaling $267,492.83 through June 30, 2025.

Staff recommends the County Board authorize the Enterprise Finance and Information Services Director to execute an amendment to the contract increasing the contract amount by $48,084.59, for a total contract amount not to exceed $267,492.83 through June 30, 2025, with Granicus, Inc., for high-definition County Board meeting streaming and closed captioning.

WHEREAS, Dakota County has a renewable contract with Granicus, Inc. to support a high-definition encoder to provide the public with recordings of County Board meetings; and
WHEREAS, Granicus, Inc. provides support under this renewable contract for high-definition encoder and closed captioning services for each County Board meeting to continue to comply with requirements as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and
WHEREAS, the renewal of the contract may be accomplished by executing a contract amendment to extend the date of the contract to June 30, 2025, and increase the total contract value by $48,084.59 to $267,492.83.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Dakota County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Enterprise Finance and Information Services Director to amend the contract with Granicus, Inc., to provide a high- definition encoder and closed captioning services, payable from the 2024 Information Technology budget for an additional $48,084.59 and a total amount not to exceed $267,492.83, subject to approval by the County Attorney’s Office as to form.
