WHEREAS, the County is the grantee for funds provided through the 2025 Urban Area Security Initiative grant (26-316, 8/4/2026); and
WHEREAS, funding from the federal government under the UASI grant will enhance preparedness activities related to natural disasters and terrorism; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the preparedness efforts is to improve countywide disaster and emergency response capabilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville applied for funding for Lakeville Police Department Camera Trailer; and
WHEREAS, staff recommend approving the Lakeville Police Department Camera Trailer request based upon federal and state guidelines; and
WHEREAS, the County desires to provide funding to the City of Lakeville as a subrecipient of the UASI Grant funds to be received by the County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville is willing to act as a subrecipient of such funds for the Lakeville Police Department Camera Trailer purchase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Dakota County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Deputy County Manager or delegate to execute a contract with City of Lakeville, for grant funded reimbursement for Lakeville Police Department Camera Trailer from the 2025 Urban Area Security Initiative grant, subject to approval of the County Attorney’s Office as to form.
