WHEREAS, the Dakota County Board of Commissioners acts as the Community Health Board and is responsible for preventing disease and promoting and protecting the public health of Dakota County residents; and
WHEREAS, Public Health provides programs and services that aim to create and sustain a healthy community for all in Dakota County; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 23-277 (June 20, 2023), the Dakota County Board of Commissioners established the board appointed Opioid Response Advisory Committee in accordance with County Policy 1015; and
WHEREAS, the intended purpose of the Opioid Response Advisory Committee is to develop and recommend a comprehensive and effective countywide response to the opioid crisis and to advise the County Board on the use of community designated fund; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 23-392 (August 29, 2023), the Dakota County Board of Commissioners named the Committee’s initial members; and
WHEREAS, on January 2, 2024, the Opioid Response Advisory Committee voted and approved the bylaws and;
WHEREAS, the bylaws were developed based on standardized language used by other County Board appointed committees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Dakota County Board of Commissioners hereby establishes the bylaws to guide the structure and operation of the Opioid Response Advisory Committee.
