RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, in December 2021, Waterford Township was awarded a Legacy grant in the amount of $244,383 for Bridge Rehabilitation Phase II of the historic Waterford Bridge over the Cannon River; and
WHEREAS, Waterford Township requested County assistance with the Phase II Rehabilitation; and
WHEREAS, a joint powers agreement was authorized by Resolution No. 23-317 (July 18, 2023), for the County to develop plans and specifications; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to advertisement, one bid was received for CP 97-224 on September 18, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the low bid in the amount of $399,900 exceeds the engineer's estimate by 96 percent and exceeds the budget available for construction; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the bid be rejected.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Dakota County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the Physical Development Director to reject the bid for County Project 97-224.
