RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the County charges fees for services not otherwise established by law as permitted by Minn. Stat. § 373.41; and
WHEREAS, staff presented a schedule of recommended 2027 fees at the Finance Work Session on August 18, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the law requires the County Board hold a public hearing prior to adopting such fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Dakota County Board of Commissioners hereby schedules a public hearing for the purpose of receiving public comments regarding the proposed fee schedules on October 6, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., in the Boardroom, Dakota County Administration Center, 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, Minnesota; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That staff is hereby directed to post notice of this public hearing in the official newspaper with reference to the Dakota County website following adoption of this resolution and to not remove the notice from the website until October 6, 2026.

BACKGROUND
Minnesota Statues require a public hearing before counties adopt or change their fee schedules. Finance has completed its annual review and is proposing updates. Scheduling a public hearing will ensure compliance and allow public input.

Staff recommends the County Board schedule a public hearing to receive comments on the recommended fee schedule at 9:00 a.m. on October 6, 2026, at the County Board meeting located in the Dakota County Boardroom at 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, Minnesota.
