PURPOSE/ACTION REQUESTED

Hold discussion and consider approving a letter to Minnesota congressional delegation and potentially other appropriate federal and state officials’ regarding federal law enforcement and the impact on County operations.

 

SUMMARY

At the January 20, 2026, General Government and Policy Committee, staff presented an update regarding the impacts of heightened federal law enforcement activity on County operations. The committee directed staff to draft a letter for consideration at a Special County Board meeting, scheduled for 3:30 p.m., January 27, 2026, Administration Center, Boardroom, Hastings, MN.
