BACKGROUND
Dakota County advisory committees support county government by involving residents in decision-making processes, meeting requirements of state law, helping define community norms and standards, providing technical expertise, offering feedback, and reflecting the diverse interests of county clients and residents.
Dakota County currently uses the Granicus Boards and Commissions platform for advisory committee applications and administration. Dakota County Information Technology staff worked collaboratively with County Administration to create a custom application called AdvisoryGov. This new application will perform all the functions of the existing tool plus has several additional features. Dakota County will save $22,383 annually with the implementation of this internally developed application.
Dakota County staff will present an update on AdvisoryGov at the General Government and Policy Committee meeting.
