PURPOSE/ACTION REQUESTED
Authorize the execution of Agreement No. 1060110 with Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) for Signal Revisions at Trunk Highway (TH) 13 and County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 28 through Eagan Project No. 1562.
SUMMARY
To provide a safe and efficient transportation system, Dakota County is partnering with MnDOT and the City of Eagan on project No. 1562. The project consists of revisions at four traffic signals within the City of Eagan; however, only the location of TH 13 and CSAH 28 (Yankee Doodle Road), identified as Signal System "C", involves County participation. The traffic signal revisions consist of flashing yellow arrows installation and associated necessary hardwire improvements, as well as new Americans with Disabilities Act-approved ramps, trail construction, and pedestrian pushbuttons (Attachment: Project Location).
Agreement No. 1060110 determines the responsibilities of each relevant party and their corresponding cost shares for this project. Per the Agreement, Dakota County will provide minor signal system maintenance to signal System "C". The County portion of the budget has been designated as County Project (CP) 28-72.

Staff recommends executing Agreement No. 1060110 with MnDOT and the City of Eagan for Project No. 1562 to make signal revisions at TH 13 and CSAH 28 (Yankee Doodle Road).

EXPLANATION OF FISCAL/FTE IMPACTS
The County's project budget for CP 28-72 is $102,000 and is funded with County State Aid Highway (CSAH) funding as part of the Transportation CIP.
