PURPOSE/ACTION REQUESTED
Provide the County Board with an update on the 2026 election cycle, including preparedness planning and new of voting equipment.
SUMMARY
The Elections Department will present updates on the upcoming election cycle, with new voting equipment being implemented to enhance security and improved accessibility options for voters with disabilities. The department has taken proactive steps since the beginning of the year to ensure that municipal clerks, election judges, and community partners have all of the tools and resources that they need to ensure that our elections remain secure and transparent.
This update is presented in advance of the beginning of the 2026 Primary Election absentee voting period, which begins on June 26, 2026.
To support public engagement, the department will have a demonstration unit of the new voting equipment set up in the Administration Center lobby, providing an opportunity for anyone interested to view and become familiar with the new equipment firsthand.
