Receive report on Clean Water Funds utilized for Well Seal Grant awards in 2023.
SUMMARY
Dakota County received a Black Dog Watershed-Based Implementation Funding (WBIF) grant and a Competitive Clean Water Fund (CWF) grant from the Minnesota Board of Soil and Water Resources (BWSR) in 2023. Dakota County was awarded a total of $135,000 between the two grants to be allocated toward staff time and cost-share grants for the sealing of abandoned wells.
The BWSR Grants Administration Manual requires that all landowner grant applications be documented in the organization meeting minutes as a legal record of the board or council's action and intent. The minutes must include the contract number, the amount(s) and source(s) of funds being applied to the project, the type of project or practice(s) being installed, and any other information necessary to fully indicate the action and intent https://bwsr.state.mn.us/implementing-contracts-landowners.
A breakdown of Well Seal Grant cost-share funding allocation and expenditures in 2023 is shown below. All grant match requirements are achieved through a 50 percent landowner cost-share match.
