BE IT RESOLVED, That the Dakota County Board of Commissioners hereby appoints/reappoints the following individuals to the Zoning Board of Adjustment with a term ending December 31, 2027:
At Large – Patrick Ramel
At Large – Robert Piro
Alternate – Robert Schuneman
At Large (Planning) – James Guttmann

BACKGROUND
The Zoning Board of Adjustment evaluates and makes decisions on variance requests and appeals pertaining to the Ordinance 50 - Shoreland and Floodplain and Ordinance 113 – Subsurface Sewage Treatment Systems; its decisions are the final administrative decision by the County.
Membership: 3 members and 1 alternate; all members are At-large
Meetings: Meets only as necessary.
Location: Western Service Center, Apple Valley
Term Limit: None
Pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 394.27, subd. 2, at least one member of this Board must be from the unincorporated area of the County and one of the members must be a member of the Dakota County Planning Commission. Past practice has been to appoint the Planning Commission Chair to serve as the Planning Commission representative on the Zoning Board of Adjustment. The Planning Commission appoints a Chair. The Planning Commission forwards the name of the 2026 Chair to the County Board for consideration for appointment to the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
