Also in attendance were Heidi Welsch, County Manager; Lucie O'Neill, Assistant County

Attorney; Marti Fischbach, Community Services Division Director; and Colleen Collette,

Administrative Coordinator.

Commissioner Atkins and Commissioner Halverson, who joined the meeting at 11:45,

attended the meeting remotely via interactive technology.

The meeting was called to order at 11:00 a.m. by the Board Chair, Commissioner Mike Slavik.

Board Chair, Commissioner Mike Slavik, asked if there was anyone in the audience who

wished to address the Community Services Committee on an item not on the agenda or an

item on the consent agenda. No one came forward and no comments were submitted to

On a motion by Commissioner Hamann-Roland, seconded by Commissioner

Droste, the agenda was unanimously approved. The motion carried by the

Community Health Improvement Plan (2025) Update

From Public Health, Erin Carder, Deputy Director along with Alex Groten,

Supervisor, and Natalie Vasilj, Program Coordinator, presented on this item and

Federal Shutdown Impacts on Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program

Tiffinie Miller-Sammons, Employment and Economic Assistance Deputy

Director, and Lia Roberts, Public Health Supervisor, presented on this item and

stood for questions. This item was on the agenda for informational purposes; no

staff direction was given.

Community Services Director's Report

Marti Fischbach, Division Director, referred the Committee to the written report that was

provided to them. Director Fischbach mentioned that there is a link in the electronic version

they received to a short video highlighting two individuals on their journey from homelessness

to housing.

Board Chair, Commissioner Mike Slavik, asked the Committee if anyone had a topic they

would like to hear more about at an upcoming Community Services Committee of the Whole

meeting. No topics were brought forth.
